About Us

FOUNDING LASDES E-JOURNAL

LASD Educational Society, a non-profit organization, was founded back in 2017 and is the parent organization to the E-Journal Project. Since the society’s inception it has been operating within the local demographic efficiently achieving its goals of legal-aid and legal education. To further the organization’s vision of enriching the field of education, LASD Educational Society launched its e-journal project in 2020.

The E-Journal aims to achieve two goals with its launch; first, to promote the virtue of critical analysis and practice of academic writing amongst students of law, sociology, policy, etcetera. Second, to provide an opportunity to the unprivileged and resource-lacking students to attempt socio-legal writing in their own style and flavor, which will not be strictly governed by english grammar or writing rules. The project will aim to develop the students’ ability to present their ideas clearly and distinctly. This facet of the project shall be called the ‘Writing Lab’ and shall be carried out by the NGO interns and associate students.

All funds generated by the e-journal project will be reinvested into the running of the project, distribution of awards, and further development of the same.

ABOUT E-JOURNAL

LASDES E-Journal is an open access, professional-reviewed reference-journal, dedicated to express views on topical legal and social issues, thereby generating a cross current of ideas on emerging matters. The journal aims to feature writings offering a wide range of information and ideas on socio-legal issues compiled as research papers, articles, case analysis and book reviews.
